Adeline releases an appealing music video for her “9” single

Adeline (pronounced ad-uh-leen) is a French-Caribbean singer-songwriter, bassist, and producer based in NYC. Not too long ago, she released an appealing music video for her “9” single.

Adeline – “9” music video

“Days, evenings, twisting all my feelings around. From midnight till the morning wondering can we ever figure it out. Truth is I’ve been waiting for you to say I’ve been thinking ’bout you too. Are you gonna be the first to say it out loud? I can hear the words in my mind, I feel it sometimes like you were mine. We should already be on cloud nine. Your head on my pillow tonight. You could have been my lover by now. But we’ve let all this time go by.” – lyrics

‘9’ tells an intriguing tale about a young woman who desires to be with someone who is very special and dear to her. Apparently, she wants to spend some quality time with this person and sees no need in them taking things slowly.

‘9’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocalization, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of JMSN, Yazmin Lacey, and Joyce Wrice. The likable tune possesses jazzy instrumentation flavored with R&B and soul elements. Furthermore, “9” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear on Adeline’s upcoming EP, which will be available soon in 2021.

“‘9’ is about a love that didn’t get realized.”

“‘9’ is about how unhealed pain affects intimacy. Too often, we live in past traumas and future fears instead of being in the present. The level of trauma and pain we experience on a daily basis affects us in so many ways that we don’t even fully realize it sometimes. So, a person can be in love but just too wounded to open up. And when two people who are both experiencing pain and trauma meet, it can be hard to dive in. It’s like they want to be together, but their own fears stand in the way of making that vision come to life. I do believe that love just ‘happens,’ but we have to be ready to receive it if we want it to flourish into a healthy relationship.” Adeline explained

To date, Adeline has toured globally and shared stages with Anderson .Paak, Lee Fields, Chromeo, Big Freedia, and Natalie Prass. Also, she has made appearances at Afropunk, Funk on the Rocks (Red Rocks), and Winter Jazz Fest. When she’s not making and touring her own music, Adeline plays bass in CeeLo Green’s touring band.

Not too long ago, Adeline left her post as the lead singer of the nu-disco outfit, Escort. Since then, she has proven herself to be one of the hardest working women in music. Recently, she announced the formation of Nightshade, her new production outfit with partner, Morgan Wiley (Midnight Magic, Jessica 6). Not too long ago, they co-wrote and produced their first hit single for Atlantic Records artist, Kamauu. The sun-drenched summer jam, “Mango,” also features a guest appearance by Adeline singing duet and playing bass.
